Tim Rogers runs through the business, which covers vehicle testing for all cars on the road: Simulation with Advanced Vehicle Driving Simulator – aVDS, Track Testing (Robots, ADAS targets, Driverless systems) and measurement.
The global automotive R&D, on which their business depends, is constantly rising. Total spend in 2015: $109 bn.
Exports make up 95% of revenue. Operating margin is 33%.
ABDP are the brand for the motor manufacturers in Simulation and Track Testing. ABDP own the mechanical, electronics and software of everything they do; so they own the IP at every level.
They’ve had relationships with manufacturers for over 30 years. Customers want a company they can trust to get it right. They sell through distributors throughout the world.
Foreign exchange has benefited ABDP over the last year, £300k benefit rather than a £40k loss the year before.
From Q3 2017 there will be additional production capacity from the new factory.
